Hey everyone! I hope you are having a great March so far! Throughout the end of February I was so busy and wasn’t able to blog as much as I would have liked so now I have a backup of posts I am hoping to get up here soon. The town I am living in is really starting to grow in size and we got our very first Ulta, which is great, but I was so shocked by the prices I had to get to T.J. Maxx, where I know you can find amazing beauty deals. So, here is the list of things I purchased and I have also linked them to Amazon to show an idea of how much they are when you buy them for full price. Unfortunately, these are not all available on the T.J. Maxx website and their online deals don’t even come close to what you can find in the store, but I hope you enjoy!
LIPS: There were a bunch of different lip products that I found and I love all of them. But, I was particularly surprised by how much I enjoy the e.l.f beauty shield lipstick in deep magenta ($2.99 compared to $6 on their website). It feels so hydrating and when the feel of the lipstick wears off, the stain does last on your lips for hours. When I found the Too Faced Melted Metal Liquified Lipstick in Metallic Jelly ($6.99), I knew I had to give it a go. However, at first I was worried about how purple it was going to make my lips. But, after trying it out, I found that it just adds a hint of color and a nice gloss. However, it does not last very long on your lips. But, my favorite thing I found were the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in vamp and ashton ($6.99). These give such a nice velvety finish and stay on for hours. I am just disappointed I didn’t get these in more colors.
SKINCARE: My favorite items from this section ended up being the The Estée Edit Late Night Eraser and overnight water pack with Pink Peony ($13). Unfortunately, I just saw that this line has been discontinued and I may have to find a new eye and night cream after I use these up. I also found the Pacifica Happy Water Herbal Tea Essence Wash ($4.99). I am not crazy about this cleansing water because it strongly smells of artificial berry candies and it burns my eyes. I will probably continue using it, but definitely don’t plan on re-buying this in the future. The next thing I found was the Bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Foaming Mask ($9.99). This mask really adds glow to your skin and only takes 5 minutes. I also enjoy the nice citrusy smell. Recently T.J. Maxx has had a lot of Body Shop items and I thought I would give the Body Shop Tea Tree Anti-imperfection Daily Solution ($4.99 compared to $22) a go. But, honestly it really has done nothing for my skin. However, it is very refreshing and I will continue trying it out because perhaps it is better at preventing blemishes rather than treating them. On the other hand, I am really enjoying using the e.l.f. Mattifying Bubble Mask ($5.99 compared to $14 on their site). I do really love the sweet/fresh scent of this and the fizzy sensation, but I am not really sure it really does mattify.
FACE: I have seriously been wanting the Real Techniques Bold Metals Collection ($3.99-5.99) and I was ecstatic when I saw they were at T.J. Maxx. These brushes are so pretty and soft. The only one I am not crazy about is the concealer brush, which is very stiff and not easy to use. Otherwise, I love them! Also, I found this BareMinerals Blush (free!), which I have been wanting to try out and it did not have a price tag on it. I think the employees there were a bit tired from a long day because they just ended up throwing it in for free. I got the Stila Shape & Shade Custom Contour Duo ($9.99) because I haven’t tried out a cream contour before, but I really don’t think I am skilled enough with contouring to really be able to evaluate this yet. I am planning to just keep working at it. Something else I am really enjoying is the e.l.f antioxidant armored setting powder ($3.99 compared to $8 on their website). My skin feels so soft after I apply it and it helps keep my makeup on all day. I will definitely buy this again for $8 if necessary when I run out. Lastly, I would say the L’Oreal Paris Infallible Smokissime Powder Eyeliner($2.99) is pretty much eye shadow with a little sponge on the end. It is nothing you can’t do with regular eyeshadow and a brush. Honestly, I am not really sure why I bought this.
I really hope you enjoyed this post because I have become obsessed with beauty and am hoping to do more posts like this. Overall, most of the items at T.J. Maxx are available for a 50% or more discount and I am pleased with most of the items I got. I did also win a giveaway for a gift card to Sephora from the blog Femme for Femme, and I am definitely going to share what I get from there when I am able to make it to Portland in the coming weeks. Have a great rest of your weekend!
